    *****

So I was going to start this huge reading binge today, but I got 3 chapters into a new book and I was dying to write. Not just write but work on the Torrid Hearts edits that have been dogging me for months. This can be one of the most powerful stories I've written yet and I think that scares me a bit. But today I was ready to push it to the limits of fantasy and belief and eroticism and romance and pull the story it should be out of the depths of my soul...hows that for drama? :)

But seriously I attacked the book today making real progress on it. I've always loved this story, but I hedged on the mythology behind it. So now, no fear, I'm delving in. This story's gonna kick ass!

Drago Castenoff has long associated himself with his namesake, the dragon and has long looked for his soul's mate, the Feng-huang. One lonely night in Vegas leads him to his Phoenix in the form of jaded stripper Sarah Bennett. In an emotional game of cat and mouse where sex and love are the prize, could anything be sweeter than surrender?

    Age of Love
I admit, I'm a selective reality show junkie and I love this one.

Mark is a 31 year old tennis star from Australia (he placed 2nd in Wimbledon in 2003) who thought he was going on a traditional dating show. What he got was an interesting experiment in does age matter in matters of the heart?

Ok, so not fair. Mark didn't know what was happening, the 40 something women didn't know about the 20 somethings that would be joining them in week 2, but all in all, after the initial shock wore off, it's been going quite well. Although the look on poor Mark's face when each of the women introduced themselves originally and told him their age was pretty priceless.

So what may have seemed like just another cheesy reality show, for me, has really become a fascinating study in maturity and men and conditioning, that I hadn't expected.

Mark says he's never dated a woman older than him, I believe about four years younger was the oldest woman he'd ever dated, so I watch him naturally gravitate towards the 20 somethings. Once he gets there however, he usually starts wishing he'd gone the other direction.

He's attracted to a couple of the 20 somethings, but I see him more drawn to the older woman over all. I mean there is no denying the obvious beauty in youth and yes my best guess is at least half of theses women (20s and 40s) have gone under the knife to enhance their faces/bodies, but the bottom line is the 40 year old women have a confidence, a sense of self and a direction in life that the 20 year olds just don't have. God knows I was lost at 20, that's the time to be lost. I'm not criticizing, but it's been really interesting for me watching these two groups of women handling the same situation so very differently.

Yes there's cattiness on both sides, but the 20 year olds, wow they're really emotional and I think their youth and innocence has them a bit starry eyed. The 40 year old women, I'd say their biggest fear at this point in their lives is they don't want to be alone, but they also know what they want from their man and they aren't about to compromise for a pair of dreamy eyes and rock hard abs.

My personal fave at the moment is Jen.

She's the oldest woman at 48 and has a 25 year old son. She has a quiet spirit, isn't quite as catty as some of the other women and in general, I just like the way she's handling herself. Plus, as of last week...omg, lots of sparks with Mark!

I have to give Mark his props though, he hasn't let age bias him and he's invested himself in these ladies as women. Good for him. I for one am hooked and can't wait to see this play out.

    A Healing Passion

    Available now from Cobblestone Press!

Betrayed and desolate, Natalie finds solace in the arms of a total stranger. Conner quickly soothes her aching heart and passionately claims her soul. Nothing, however, can prepare her for the discovery of his devastating secret. Will she be strong enough to handle the revelation? And will their passion survive?

    ADULT EXCERPT:

Conner slid off the bed, removed both their towels and did what he’d wanted to do from the first second he saw Natalie. Standing at her feet as she lay on the bed, naked and relaxed from her orgasm, he let his gaze slowly stroll over her. From her make-me-crazy shoulders, to her beautiful rounded breasts, to her stomach and hips—she was all woman and all real. Her skin glowed and she had faint tan lines from shorts and a halter top. Her legs were spread just enough to give him a flash of pink folds beneath blonde curls and he let his eyes leisurely devour her before moving down her legs to her orange-painted toenails.

    “You’re fucking gorgeous, love.”

She blushed faintly. Her eyes met his and he watched as some emotion moved through them before she slowly spread her legs to give him an unrestricted view. His balls tightened, his cock grew harder and he very nearly lost control of himself. Dropping to his knees, he pulled her ankles until she lay on the bed’s edge. He separated her folds with his fingers, then laved her once more with his tongue.

When he stood back up, he saw the faint blush on her cheeks, the shallow rise and fall of her chest. Her breasts were so beautiful, plump and round, the right one slightly larger than the left. He leaned back over her. “Do you trust me?”

He realized she didn’t even know him and assumed she’d say “sure” just to go along with him. What he hadn’t expected was the light sheen of tears in her eyes or the way she gently touched his cheek before answering.

    “I do. I can’t explain it, because I don’t know a thing about you, but I do.”

He kissed her, not sure anyone had every touched his heart so directly before.

    “Lie still and don’t move.”

Natalie did exactly what he said and watched him move around the room. He got the box of condoms and emptied all the packages onto a lump in the bed formed by one of the pillows underneath the green quilt. She ached for and craved his touch, but she lay still, secretly thrilling in the freedom of being submissive to his wants.

She could hardly believe it—naked on a man’s bed, bathed in sunlight, and she didn’t feel even a tiny bit uncomfortable. He went into the closet and came back with a handful of his ties, which she thought odd, but even that didn’t set off any warning bells. She truly did trust this man in a way she hadn’t since her naïveté had been ripped away one fall afternoon behind the bathrooms at Glenn Ivy High.

“Have you ever been tied before, Natalie?”

She raised a brow, not getting it at first, since she’d never given a thought to what she considered “kinky” sex and couldn’t immediately connect it to herself.

    “Tied?”

He proceeded to weave a deep blue tie around her left wrist. Her heart skipped a beat, then started to pound rapidly as she watched his hands work the tie around her wrist in an intricate knot pattern.

    "You still trust me?"
